Dr. Tommy Bolan
Tommy has been pastor at FBCM since 1995. Prior to coming here, he served at Mount View Baptist Church in Trinity, AL. He has a B.S. degree in Health Systems Administration from Auburn University, and a M. Div. and Th. D. in Preaching and New Testament from New Orleans Baptist Seminary. Tommy is married to Laura, and they have three boys – Jeffrey, Bradley, and Gregory. During his free time, Tommy enjoys golf, tennis, running, fishing, and hunting. His favorite song is “Blessed Assurance”.
Tommy’s favorite verses are Matthew 22:36-40: Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. Another favorite is John 13:34-35: A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
David Hutto
David has served as our Associate Pastor, Student Minister, and Minster to Senior Adults since May of 2000. Before coming to FBCM, he served at Calvary Baptist in New Orleans from 1981-1983, and then Highland Baptist in Meridian, MS from 1983-2000. David and his wife Kim have 2 children, Ben and Rebekah. He has a B.A. in History from La. Tech University and a Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Seminary. David enjoys camping, fishing, and golf. His favorite song is “One Pure and Holy Passion”.
David’s life verse is found in Matthew 6:33: But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Joel Wiley
Joel has been at FBCM since 2002 as our Minster of Music and Worship. He has been singing and playing guitar, bass, and keyboard in churches and bands since he was a teenager. Joel is married to Lori, and they have four girls – Logan, Sydney, Tessa, and Kirsten, who is married to Blake Moffatt. He has a B.S. degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and has taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades for years. In his free time, Joel enjoys traveling, watching his kids play sports, and spending time at home with his family. He has too many musical favorites to mention, but he really loves Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, and Third Day.
Joel’s favorite verses are Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.
Kenny and Martha Newman
Martha and Kenny have been on staff as the dynamic duo Children’s Ministers at FBCM since April of 2001, and volunteered in that position for 2 years prior. They have 2 children – Meagan, who is married to Shan Taylor (who are both attending New Orleans Baptist Seminary),and McKenley (Mick).
Martha studied at Okaloosa Walton Jr. College in Niceville, FL. Her favorite pastimes are traveling, watching hockey, writing, and being with her family. Martha’s favorite song is “Beautiful” by Kari Jobe. Her favorite verses are Psalm 42:1-2: As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? Another meaningful verse for Martha is John 11:5: Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.
Kenny has an Associates Degree in Fire Science from Calhoun Community College and works full-time as a Captain with the Huntsville Fire Department. Kenny’s favorite hobbies are napping, playing guitar, and watching college football and ice hockey. His favorite group is Third Day and his favorite song is “Nothin’” by Chris Rice. His favorite verses are Proverbs 30:2: Surely I am only a brute, not a man; I do not have human understanding; and Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.
Kim Hutto
Kim, who is married to our Associate Pastor David Hutto, is currently serving as our WEE Care Director. She has a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from La. Tech University and has previously served at Highland Baptist Church in Meridian, MS. Kim enjoys traveling, camping, and reading; and her favorite verse is Romans 8:28: We know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.
Helen Rigsby
Helen has been FBCM’s financial secretary since 2003. She is married to Claude, and they have two children – Kay, who is married to Brandon Frazier, and a son Travis and his wife Holly. Helen loves Southern Gospel music and enjoys spending time with her family and two granddaughters. Her favorite verses are John 14:1-3: Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
