We were made to worship God.
Psalm 33:33 says “Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.” That just about sums it up! Music can be a powerful expression of worship. To worship means to give honor or ascribe worth to something. God is pleased when we worship Him. Our goal as a music ministry is to lead the congregation in musical worship and point people to the only One worthy of our worship – God.
Our music ministry is made up of some of the best folks around – amazingly gifted people using their God-given talents for His glory, not for man’s applause or personal attention. Our praise band and choir use their gifts to lead our congregation on Sundays and special occasions. It’s hard to give our musical style a label – from Fanny Crosby to Chris Tomlin, Bill Gaither to Hillsong, – if it brings glory to God it’s good! And our people love to sing and worship together as a body of believers.
Our choir is an exciting place to learn, lead, and experience worship through music. The choir usually sings each week during the morning service, and occasionally at other times. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30. Musical experience is great but not required, only a desire to sing praises and to commit to be at rehearsals.
